Privacy policy

Geo Solarworks Technology Limited (“GeoSolar”, “we”) is the data controller for personal data collected through geosolar.co.ke, the GeoSolar Marketplace, the customer portal and the partner portal. We process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: name, phone, email, company, position, county and town.
  • Project information: energy usage, electricity bills, site plans and photos you upload.
  • Account, order, payment and delivery records, including M-Pesa receipt numbers. Card details are entered on our payment provider’s page and never reach our servers.
  • Support tickets, messages, attachments and service history for installed systems.
  • Technical data: IP address and browser information for security, and — only with your consent — analytics events.

Why we use it

  • To respond to enquiries, prepare proposals and quotations (legitimate interest / pre-contract steps).
  • To fulfil orders, process payments, deliver, install and support your system (contract).
  • To meet tax, accounting and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).
  • To send service, warranty and maintenance reminders, and marketing only where you have agreed.

Who we share it with

Our CRM, accounting and help-desk providers (Zoho), payment providers (Safaricom M-Pesa, our card gateway), messaging providers for email/SMS/WhatsApp notifications, delivery partners, and — where you buy through one — the authorised GeoSolar partner who manages your account. We do not sell personal data.

Storage and security

Uploaded documents are stored privately and are only available to you and authorised GeoSolar staff. Access is role-based and logged. Some providers may process data outside Kenya under appropriate safeguards.

Retention

We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months after last contact, and customer, order and invoice records for as long as required by Kenyan tax law and for the warranty life of installed systems.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Contact our data protection contact at info@geosolar.co.ke or 0713 671 833, P.O. Box 28546-00100, Nairobi. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
